Privacy policy

This policy explains how BOEN JIAMEI ("we") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account information: email address, password hash, and an optional display name.
• Payment information: Online payment is not currently available, so we do not process payment credentials.
• Submitted documents: PDF, DOCX, or TXT files uploaded for report generation.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Request IP address, user agent, and access time for security auditing, rate limiting, and abuse detection.
• Session cookies and optional preference cookies described in the Cookie policy.

2. How we use information

• Generate similarity and AI reports.
• Maintain account access, credit records, and service status; online payment is not currently available.
• Perform login auditing, rate limiting, risk controls, and abuse detection.
• Send service messages such as password resets, report status, and credit-change notices.
• Send product updates only after explicit consent.

We do not use submitted documents for AI model training or commercial analysis.

3. Retention

• Original documents: retained for no longer than 30 days by default; completed submissions can be deleted earlier.
• Report PDFs and structured JSON: retained for no longer than 365 days by default and deleted with the submission.
• Job checkpoints and terminal job directories: retained for no longer than 30 days by default.
• Inbox messages: retained for no longer than 90 days by default.
• Personal information in security audit records: detail, IP address, and user agent are cleared after 365 days by default and on account deletion.
• Application logs: retained for no longer than 30 days in production.
• Payment and financial records: retained only under applicable law and an approved finance-retention policy; we do not promise a fixed period before legal review is complete.

Deletion is attempted immediately. If storage is temporarily unavailable, the deletion is placed in a durable retry queue until it succeeds or reaches a dead-letter state requiring operator action.

4. Sharing

We share information only where needed to provide the service or comply with law, including:

• Turnitin for document processing and report generation.
• Payment providers: Online payment is not currently available, so we do not currently share payment information with payment providers.
• Cloud infrastructure providers for storage, databases, and content delivery, subject to approved vendor terms.
• Authorities where a valid legal demand applies.

5. Security

We use HTTPS, password hashing, hashed sensitive tokens, internal access controls, and security auditing. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

6. Your rights

• Access: request or download available account information.
• Correction: update supported profile details.
• Deletion: delete completed submissions or request account deletion. Submission content is deleted, and personal information in audit evidence is cleared or irreversibly pseudonymized; legally required financial records follow a separately approved policy.
• Withdrawal: cancel subscriptions and opt out of marketing messages.
• Portability: download available submission history and reports.

7. Data location and cross-border transfers

Actual data locations depend on the cloud, storage, payment, and report providers selected for production. Before accepting real users, we will complete legal review of data flows, processing regions, vendor terms, and any required transfer mechanism. Until that review is approved, this page does not claim a specific region or contractual transfer mechanism.

8. Children's privacy

The service is not directed to children under 14. If we identify such an account, we will delete it.

9. Policy changes

We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes through an in-product notice or email.
